What does it mean to become a member?

Membership is available to Tempe residents who are at least 60 years old and is initiated by a phone call to our office. We will arrange a time to meet any prospective members in their homes, answer any questions, and fill out the membership forms together. Annual fees of $96 for individuals and $180 for a couple cover all of our services, which are provided by volunteers who have undergone background checks.

What services are available?

Transportation. Driving and/or accompanying members to medical appointments, grocery shopping, prescription pick-up, errands and social events.  Volunteers drive within in 12-mile radius each way and we are able to accommodate two trips per week.
Friendly Visits or Phone Calls.  Our volunteers will go to members' homes for friendly visits or make phone calls to say hello.
Gardening & Yard Care.  We provide seasonal yard care up to 4 times per year, which includes cleaning up weeds, trimming bushes, and mowing lawns.
Light Home Maintenance.  Our volunteers will replace light bulbs, air filters, smoke alarm and hearing aid batteries, and make minor home repairs.
Technology Assistance. We provide guidance with cell phones, televisions, and general computer assistance like troubleshooting and installations.
Light pet care.  Our volunteers walk member's dogs to ensure they stay healthy, and can provide other pet care assistance that may be needed.
